Allowing myself to be hopeful
Posted on September 9th, 2008 – 5:48 PMBy Howard
White Sox lose this afternoon. If they lose again tonight and the Twins win, the margin becomes one game. Considering that they’re playing Toronto and the Twins are playing Kansas City, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
I’m on my way over to the Dome.
If I see Brendan Harris, I’ll let’cha know.

Careful, you know what happens around here if you try to be hopeful.
But it is nice to see Toronto’s hot streak didn’t stop once they finished off the Twins.

Put a voodoo-hoodoo on Bannister.
Howard, we got our wish. Twins are one game back. No exploding scoreboard today at the Cell. White Sox go homer-less and are swept by the Red Hot Blue Jays. You can put it on the board!!
And to think I wasted a couple innings tonight fending of (successfully) Punto bashers on Joe C’s blog.
Think I’ll hang here for the rest of the season.
Can’t believe how strong Reyes and Guerrier looked tonight with their 94-97 FB’s. Did they get cortisone shots?
No, romer, they didn’t get cortisone shots. B12.
romer,
matty didn’t pitch. He must have looked strong carrying his glove?
Crain on the other hand looked pretty good. Reyes, not so much.
Neither should have been used/abused in a blowout. Hope we don’t need ‘em today.

Unfortunately we’ve seen how quickly this bullpen can turn a blowout into a loss.
At this point, I take no lead for granted…
I hate how the White Sox announcers say “Put it on the board” I have always said that while fishing when I catch one…now my saying is just tainted

Then I hope you weren’t watching when the Sox hit their four homers earlier this year.
I saw the replays, and I’m pretty sure they said it all four times.
Within like 10 pitches.
