Just because it was not a textbook barrel roll doesn't mean it wasn't just as potentially dangerous. I think they should have tossed him from the game. The .gif could be used to make a case for more discipline. A barrel-roll is when when you take out the fielder’s legs with your body. Sometimes you’ll see guys slide “late” or come up from the slide “early” so that as they roll their body, they hit the fielder with their side/hips/chest/back.
