On a side note, any guesses as to what Hardy's number will be as a Twin?

I'll give you a hint, it most likely will NOT be his current one.

I have to agree with Howard, it is sad to see Gomez go. The kid was an obvious spark for the team, but I think once Span asserted himself as the everyday lead-off man, the writing was on the wall.

If you look at Young and Gomez, the two are almost equal at the plate when they are struggling. But if both excel, you have a power hitter we desperately need in Young...and a leadoff man we already have in Gomez.

I wish him all the best with the Brewers, and will look foward to see what Hardy can bring to the table in 2010.

That leaves 3B, 2B, and a few spots in the rotation as question marks. Any word on if they feel Valencia is ready for the hot corner?

"they could sell that team in 10 minutes to someone and make a fortune..if that’s all they’re interested in, why wait? They have no commitment to the Twins winning that’s obvious"

If, as you say, they are NOT interested in making a fortune, and NOT committed to winning, wtf are they interested in?

What Minnesota billionaire would want to buy the Twins in order to raise the payroll to a competitive level and lose money as a result?

Finding THAT guy will take you a lot longer than 10 minutes.

"jon, sell the team if you’re not in it to win"

There are potential buyers in Las Vegas and other high-roller areas.......but probably a shortage of billionaires in Minnesota, who would like to buy the small-market Twins.
