Is Eastwood translating Morricone’s acceptance speech in Italian on the fly, or getting the English version off a teleprompter? Either way, it’s moving to see them side by side four decades after they burst onto the world cinema scene in Sergio Leone’s great Westerns. Quincy Jones is up in the skybox, applauding.
