So I was sitting at Max Azria waiting for the show to start. When all of the sudden someone calls out to me–are you from Minnesota? Do you recognize this face?
It was Courtney Christian. She used to be my favorite waitress at the Good Earth in Galleria. She never knew what I did and I never knew that she wanted to work in music. I was so disoriented and excited that I barely watched the runway show because I was so busy text messaging with Courtney.

Here’s the deal: She met Joss when she was working as a production assistant at The Myth during her performance. After getting to know Joss better, Courtney packed up her stuff in Bloomington and went on tour in Australia, Europe, and Dubai. Yeah, basically around the world.

Courtney still lives in Minnesota, but is now Joss’ personal assistant. She has flown to England to work with Joss and is in New York this week for fashion week and other appointments. I’ve seen Joss at a few shows so far (Baby Phat, Herve Leger, BCBG) and she walked in the Red Dress Collection in a Max Azria dress.

According to Courtney, Joss loooooves Max Azria.

While I’ve been dragging myself to shows, Courtney has been having cosmopolitans with Joss and “Mr. Big” Chris Noth and enjoying Max Azria’s company at his post-show dinner and sitting next to Jaime King. She even went drinking with Joey DeGraw (Gavin’s brother) who owns a lower east side bar.
Courtney has a real passion for music. She enjoyed the Baby Phat show for its rousing music.

Unfortunately for me, now that I have an in with Joss, she isn’t planning to attend any more fashion shows…as of right now. She’ll be recording with Smokey Robinson and some others this week and going to meetings.

I just can’t believe that Courtney recognized me so out of context. Minnesotans are just popping up all over.
