If you look up “over the top” in the dictionary, you see a photo of Betsey Johnson. Her fall 2008 collection lived up to her reputation.

The “Beat Chick” scene featured a dimly lit stage. The models dressed kind of like the cool kids did back in the 1960’s–berets and fringe. Johnson also sent a number of her vintage designs down the runway. Do I sense a reissuing of this poofy cherry dress? We should be so lucky.

She closed the show with two of her signature cartwheels. She performed a second one even after losing a shoe during her first acrobatic move. She also danced down the runway with her granddaughter Layla, who is now one and a half.
