This was the best collection I’ve seen from Nanette Lepore yet. Still feminine and pretty (her signature), the clothes were much less fussy than her past efforts.

From the opening of the show, the first coat that went down the runway a plaid boucle coat in a bordeaux made a statement. Tailored plaids and tweeds were paired with chunky knits and chiffons. Fall will be a time of great texture. The neutral blacks and ivories were punctuated with champagne pink, fuchsia and bordeaux.

Pops of color also came in the shoes, which were from Lepore’s own line. Teal and merlot just enhanced the richness of the other colors. Long gloves added to the glamor.
Ladylike and sophisticated. Period.
