StylePointing: Drew Beson at Drew Beson’s art opening
Posted on March 7th, 2008 – 11:15 AMBy Sara Glassman

Last night, local artist, Drew Beson, hosted an art opening at the View. The walls were covered with abstract, geometric canvases and wood (see Diagnal Departure, $685, below, others start as low as $385).
Here, the artist stands in front of his “Cut Fasta,” a very different creation, which was created live and a DVD of the “performance” was playing over the bar. It reminds me of early Pollock meets De Koonig. So very primitive. Who knew the View was so gallery-like?
If you want to see Beson in action, he’ll be performing/painting again this Saturday night at Diva, starting at 10 p.m.-ish. The finished works will be auctioned off. Lucky for you, since “Cut Fasta” sold for $1285.
