First of all, yes, Ashlee was wearing her famous promise ring that was given to her by Pete Wentz. Second of all, next to the pave diamond band is a little red heart tattoo with a black outline.
Now here’s the deal with Ashlee’s makeup. “Ashlee likes more of a dramatic eye,” said Mary Phillips, Simpson’s makeup artist. For the performance at the mall, Phillips used Chanel Teint Innocence foundation, Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Radiant Gems (it’s a limited edition) and Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Mahogany.

Q What are you wearing today?
A A black tank top, Adidas tennis shoes (some kicks!) and a leather jacket by Mike and Chris. It’s really the only nice thing I have on today.

Q How would you describe your personal style?
A I’m pretty casual, but I like to mix and match things and I do like to put a dress on every now and then, but it’s all about what you feel confident in.

Q How does that relate to your music?
A I can’t walk on stage or anywhere in an outfit I feel uncomfortable in or I’ll be really awkward.

Q Is there anything fashion-wise that you’re “Little Miss Obsessive” about?
A My black jeans, which I have a million of my J Brands. They’re my favorites. And I have a lot of sneakers.

Q Is life as a redhead any different?
A I guess red hair is a little more spunky.

Q Favorite place shop?
A Malls are always great, there’s a wide variety of stores. There are some places in L.A. I like to go. I always like to go vintage shopping. Really pick through stuff. It’s a full day out.

Q Do you have any design aspirations?
A I do. I have ideas and what not in the works, but kind of making sure it’s right before I put it out.
