Daily StylePointer: Trading up at Buffalo Exchange
Posted on April 9th, 2008 – 8:00 AMBy Sara Glassman

At Buffalo Exchange, you can do almost anything related to clothes: Buy new clothes, buy used clothes (a.k.a. recycling), sell unwanted clothes (in superb condition) and donate clothes. By clothes I mean they deal in both men’s and women’s clothes and accessories.
For your old, unwanted duds you can get 50 percent of the store’s selling price in store credit or 30 percent in cash. Yeah, cash. If you go for the store credit, you can buy new clothes, indicated by the blue price tags. (Repeat: Blue is new!) Try the bright Cherish shirt ($21). Or you can find something used (white tags), such as a peach Lacoste shirt ($18.50), a Marc Jacobs denim dress ($50, currently in the window, see below), Gucci sunglasses ($50) and premium denim–men’s and women’s Diesel ($30 to $50), Rock & Republic ($50 to $60) and True Religion ($45 to $55) jeans.
It’s instant-gratification for those looking for a wardrobe overhaul.
Then there’s gratification of a different kind: Now through Earth Day, you can donate old furs in any condition, which will then be donated to Coats for Cubs. It’s a program through the Humane Society which uses the furs to snuggle baby animals. (Awwwww…) Also, mark your calendar for April 19th. Stop by for a dollar sale (as in everything is $1) with proceeds going to Galapagos Conservancy to help repopulate giant tortoises.
