The gladiator shoe is h-o-t. You can buy serious up-the-calf versions at Nordstrom or these highly practical ankle grazers at Covered.
They’re DV by Dolce Vita and only $59. Yes, they’re real leather. Available in black or gold.
While you’re there, you can love or hate over the controversial LNA zipper leggings. There are a few pairs in black.

Covered, 1201 Lagoon Av., Mpls, 612-825-1610.

I haven’t found any examples of gladiators being flattering on anyone, regardless of leg or body type … suggestions? I like the idea that they’re flat, certainly. But they cut you in a bad spot on the ankle.

Oh I forget - Yul Brynner in The Ten Commandments ROCKED the gladiator sandal (he had fearsome calves!)
