While I’ve been known to enjoy an ashtanga class here and there, I haven’t been much of a yogi in recent years. That may soon change, thanks to the new CorePower Yoga in Edina.
The shiny new space (under Q Cumbers) has a shiny new heated studio, shiny new lockers, shiny new spa rooms and a shiny new boutique. One look at the brightly colored yoga pants and tops and you’ll want to give your workout wardrobe a makeover.

Studio/spa director Nielle Arnold is especially proud (as she should be!) of the mix of local and established brands–Prana, Tonic, Be Present–alongside local labels — Foat Design, Julz Marie and Universal Pants to name a few.

Pictured is a look by Foat Design. The top is $57 and the pants are $99. They are completely green–the clothes are made from repurposed fabrics by twin sisters Kaja and Zoe Foat.

The necklace is also locally designed by Helena Raghubir and has healing and spiritual properties. Each piece has a name. This necklace with carnelian, aventurine and copper is called “ageless beauty.”

Inspiring, right? It might just be enough to get me back into downward-facing dog mode.

Grand Opening: Thursday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Free classes at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.. Complimentary champagne and facial or chair massage. 20 percent discount on all items in boutique.
