Bumbershute StylePointing: Hello, yellow!

This is one of my favorite dresses ever. A 3.1 Phillip Lim strapless draped number that’s carried at Bumbershute. It’s worn here by Jenna Jehowski with Steve Madden shoes.

Jenna is a friend of store owner Kathryn Paulsrud. Jenna lives in Minneapolis and works as a distributor of Mona Vie–a nutritional beverage, which she assures me is about to be huge in the Twin Cities.  It has acai in it, which in addition to being a superfood, is delicious, in my opinion. Mona Vie–we shall see!

To the party crowd’s credit, it was hard to differentiate the couture from the couturish.

Case in point: Darla Potter’s Bebe ensemble with Target shoes.

Darla lives in Northeast Minneapolis and works at the recruiting firm Robert Hath International.

Bumbershute StylePointing: Green with envy

Well, maybe not envy, but Jennifer Hirschi makes it work in this sweater dress. It’s by Falls, which is carried at Len Druskin.

Jennifer actually works at Len Druskin. Her bag and shoes are by Just Cavalli. She bought them in New York. Nice! I learned a new logo–JC.

Doesn’t this dress look like summer? It’s BCBG as worn by Katie Bismark.

Also enjoy a glimpse into Bumbershute’s dressing rooms. Nice, right?

Bumbershute StylePointing: Boutique chique

There was something about Aisha Ghanchi’s outfit. The Linden Hills resident was clearly not afraid to put a look together.
It turns out Aisha really has an expert eye–the former Marshall Field’s employee is opening her own boutique in October in Northeast Minneapolis. It will be called Belle Reve, after the lost ancestral home from “A Streetcar Named Desire.” (Literary, no?)

Consider this your preview of Belle Reve: Aisha dresses up her black dress with a vintage belt, Marc Jacobs bag and LAMB (as in Gwen Stefani) shoes.

Naturally, StylePoints will update you on the opening of that store too.

Bumbershute StylePointing: Dee & G

If you looked at all of the fashion show photos, you too might be able to guess the designer of Dee Burton’s dress.

Got it?

Dolce & Gabbana D&G. Though she bought it in New York and not at Bumbershute, it was certainly in the spirit of the event. Nice Fendi bag too!
Dee owns deezfit.com–an ecommerce site with cool and unique workout clothes.
