Top baby names: Aidan for boys and Ava for girls–same as last year (Babynames.com).
Word of the year: W00t (Merriam-Webster).
Top dinosaur find: The mummified remains of a hadrosaur — skin and tissue intact — in North Dakota (National Geographic).
Top scam: Deceptive weight-loss plans, including a bogus dieting patch (ConsumerAffairs.com).
Best film trailer: Trailer 2 for 300 – ”a trailer that captured everyone’s imagination” (iFilm).
