American Idol won’t reveal its Top 24 singers until Wednesday, but fans have been buzzing over a leaked list of them online. The top-rated TV show zealously guards the results of its just-concluded audition process, which produces the top-judged singers who actually sing for viewers’ votes, but a list of the Top 12 men and the Top 12 women was recently posted on a fan forum and is making the rounds online. Some observers are quick to point out that the leaked list is just a rumor, but the inclusion of singers who weren’t even shown during the first round of auditions, before next week’s airing of the paring Hollywood round, lends legitimacy to the purloined roster. We’ll know for sure at the end of Wednesday’s show if the list turned out to be right.
