The folks behind Erbert & Gerbert’s viral videos are at it again. Minneapolis-based agency Colle+McVoy has created a clever video showing a huge Candle Cannon (click on the pic to play the clip) that was designed to blow out the candles on the Wisconsin-based sandwich shops’ 20th birthday cake from a long distance. It’s really cool. Many obviously agree, because the clip has already received nearly 600,000 views in just a few weeks on YouTube.

Called the world’s largest air votex cannon, the Candle Cannon was built “with help from a physics professor, a trash can, duct tape and surgical tubing,” the agency said. The device fires a huge smoke ring that eventually blows out the candles up to 180 feet away. The funniest bit in the 2 1/2-minute clip is when two seemingly unsuspecting women (pictured), who SP32_20080331_083258.jpgare eating while watching the proceedings, get their sandwiches blown out of their hands by the wind that the cannon generates.

Colle McVoy previously created the hugely popular Human Flipbook viral clip for Erbert & Gerbert’s. In that 30-second video, a man’s shirt serves as the canvas for a whimsical animated scene. An intern donned and removed 150 shirts,
each with an ironed-on animated still, to pull it off.
