SP32_20080403_083732.jpgThe Minnesota Shubert Center is bringing the world of dance to online viewers through a fascinating project called Men In Motion: A Dance Journey. It follows the creation of a new work for Minneapolis’ Zenon Dance Company by choreographer Seán Curran. Videos, photos (such as the one here by Jim Smith) and text explain everything from how Curran was chosen to creating the sets and costumes. There’s loads of rehearsal and interview footage, too. Visitors can even leave questions for the artists to answer. Because the Shubert is a performing arts and education center, the primary audience of Men in Motion is students, but any online viewer can tune in to watch the creation of the newly commissioned work, Hard Bargain. The Follow the Creative Process presentation runs through April 18, with updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Not only is Men in Motion free, but it also offers the best seat in the house.
