Best Buy matching Wal-Mart Blu-ray deal

Just a heads up that Best Buy stores appear to be matching Wal-Mart’s Blu-ray deal, which I wrote about last week.  There’s a good discussion about people’s experiences with getting a $100 store gift card with the purchase of any Blu-ray player, including the PlayStation 3, at the Slick Deals forum. Some of the reported catches are that Best Buy is only matching the offer on players that Wal-Mart carries and that Best Buy might call a local Wal-Mart to ensure that it has the desired player in stock. Also, keep in mind the stores’ return policies when deciding between the two retailers, as noted in the comments section of my previous post.  The deal runs at least through this week, although there is a lot of buzz that it will be extended or become a retailer free-for-all, as happened with HD DVD late last year.

Wow. Thanks. But wait, must resist……need money for food…and children’s clothes…and and and gas…and new G3 iPhone…and must not forget wrath of wife if Playstation crosses threshold. Must resist.
I’m never gonna make it to the Singularity.
