Happy Turkey Day from PETA

Cooking meat is bad, PETA says, so it has created a bloody, Thanksgiving-themed parody of Cooking Mama because, the animal-rights group says, the series of cooking video games from Majesco is “so heavy on dishes that are made from dead animals.”
The online game Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals: The Unauthorized PETA Edition is so over the top that it’s more of a gory joke than a call to arms for the vegan brigade. Not only do players have to guide a demonic “Mama” in virtually hacking away at the head of a turkey as part of their Thanksgiving Day preparation, but they also have to help her crack open eggs that drip blood. Then after making their Turkey Day blood feast, they get to make a vegetarian substitute meal, shaping yummy tofu into a gelatinous main course, to show how much better that option is.
Under the obvious stance that any publicity is good publicity, Majesco has taken the PETA attack in stride by issuing a response that plugs its newest Cooking Mama game, World Kitchen: “Cooking Mama World Kitchen includes more than 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes [out of 51] including delicious breakfast, dinner, dessert and snack options. And, while Mama is not a vegetarian, she fully supports the humane treatment of animals, particularly for her canine protégé Max, who makes his doggie debut in World Kitchen.”
