Vern Kohlhof informed me today that his weeks-long ordeal with Best Buy has come to a happy conclusion. The television repairman “that started this mess” came to Kohlhof’s Apple Valley home today, admitted that he “rushed through the check processing and he did it wrong.” The missing check was shredded, so it’s no longer in circulation.

Kohlhof settled the matter by paying about half the total bill - by credit card. Kohlhof said he was told he would get a letter from Certegy informing him his credit is safe.
