My colleague Jim Walsh has reported on a lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against the Star Tribune. The federal agency says female employees were subjected to a “sexually hostile work environment” in the mailroom. That’s the area of the Heritage printing plant in Minneapolis where the newspapers are packaged. My company has already denied the allegations, saying that some behavior was “inappropriate” but not illegal. Nevertheless, the company has instituted training for employees at the Heritage plant to “to reinforce the Star Tribune’s strong commitment to a respectful work environment…”
