They were at my door 06-20-08, leaving and wanted them to go, both black, one with gold tooth, other with speech impediment. Spoke with Katie at some answering service, same 120 day rule for refunds. got me and the neighbor. Have seen them before. Have receipts with one boys name, and a po box for golden, co, phone number, and some email reference. They seem to be connected with a selling org.

I fell for the scam too. A couple of years ago I bought some magazines from someone trying to better himself. I got the magazines and felt good that I possibly helped someone out. So this year
when someone came to my door, I ordered magazines again. But this time I was scammed. What is the deal with this Urban Success people? I guess they can just rip people off and get away with it. Well I learned my lesson and will on longer buy anything from my front porch.

Linden Hills area. Learned an expensive lesson.

I had someone from this group stop at my house in Owatonna this summer. I didn't buy anything, even though the guy offered me a weird check made out to himself for $10 to subscribe. He kept rambling about "fat chicks" and was wearing a beer t-shirt, and wanted to put a sign in my window telling other sales people to stay away because he was here first.

I've purchased magazines from every single one of the youth from urban success...I've never had a problem with the salesperson....The responses above appear pety and implicitly racist...
Startup salespeople need support, and skills... The bad management practices of the company that outright exploits the kids needs, and pockets the money...
Gold tooth or not...that salesman is just doing what we all do...playing the good old fashioned finance game... and everyone respects green.

I was suckered too - would've been late summer, can't recall exactly when. Paid the guy, same story, used to be in trouble with the law, family, trying to get back on his feet. Blah blah blah. Never got the magazines. I hope whoever was responsible for giving this company (and ANY others doing door-to-door in Plymouth) is reading this. NO MORE DOOR TO DOOR!!! 90% of it is illegitimate and dangerous, and ALL OF IT IS ANNOYING. Don't give these companies permits anymore!!

Beware buying subscriptions online as well. A lot of
these door-to-door magazine scams have moved online,
either as independent websites or individuals selling
via places like ebay.

My mother got scammed by one of these jerks on ebay.
She thought she won a year subscription for an expensive
nursing journal on the cheap, but it turns out all she
did was pay the ebay seller to sign her up for the
subscription. So she got stuck with a $120 bill for the
subscription at regular price, plus $70 lost on the
auction.

I bought magazines from the same door to door group last
summer, and the magazines took 6 months to arrive and I
only got 1/2 of the publications I paid for. I won't buy
again at the door. I also live in Eden Prairie.
