Cardholder Services made a terroristic threat
this afternoon. I did press *57 as recommended above.

I have been harassed repeatedly by Cardholder Services in violation of Do Not Call. Today, I read the woman at the other end off (but no threats other than reporting them to law enforcement and for violating Do Not Call) in the hope that they might stop. A few minutes later, a man called me back and began to read me off for trash-talking “his girl.” I told him that, as they were making harassing phone calls I would speak to her and to him in any manner I chose. At some point in this heated exchange, he said, “I am going to send somebody to your house to kill you.” I replied, “You have just committed a felony,” at which point he hung up.

Get an answering machine, call a number you know is disconnected
and record that annoying tone. Set your machine to answer after
2 rings. The computer thinks the number is disconnected and quits
calling. I got that call, the warranty call, one where they will
sell my timeshare. The more you try to get rid of them, the more
they harrass you. By the way, I also got all of the above calls
originating from British Columbia. Complained to the Canadian
Government-was told to complain to my own.

My parents have an answering machine that has a certain tone right before the machine picks up. The tone causes autodialers to hang up, then my parents can pick up the call if someone they do want to talk to starts leaving a message. They never get messages from telemarketers, either. I hadn’t ever heard of this before (nor since, actually).
I use caller ID, myself, but that doesn’t help the waking-from-a-nap problem.

If you just google “rachel cardservices” you will learn all sofrts of einformation about these people. Including call back numbers and stories of other people that have dealt with the same thing. It looks like nobody’s been able to really shut them down on a nationwide level. Maybe Whistleblower can do so!! (My disabled mother fell for this a few months ago and it resulted in many canceled credit cards)

I got this call too and pressed 9 to talk to a real person. I asked which bank they were with. He kept saying card services, I said no which bank. Every credit card is backed by some sort of bank. He hung up on me. What a**es. I love the bullhorn idea. I’m going to give it a try and will let you all know if I get another call from them.
