Once again, Jimmy Boy shows his lack of professionalism, standards, or ethics.
In this case, I think the Whistleblower needs to be investigated.

This was a hatchet job on the veterinary clinic, who offered this woman a choice between euthanizing the animal because they couldn’t care for it, or surrendering it to them. She shouldn’t be breeding dogs if she’s not prepared to pay their medical costs. That’s part of the cost of doing business. She wants to make money, but not spend any of it on vet care. Did you check her vet records for her other pets? Ask her for those records. I guarantee you she isn’t doing annual heartworm, vax and routine vet care also. If you’re going to “investigate”, then be more thorough, please. You owe that veterinarian a public apology.

This isn’t a whistle blower case, where’s the practice that you’re trying to stop? Is it that you don’t think people should be poor pet owners (who can’t afford to give care, so they give up the dog), or that the vet was trying to get the dog to sell it and make money? What are you trying to stop?

I’ve had five dogs and when one of them was thought to have licked up some anti-freeze I couldn’t afford the $1000 for treatment. That makes me a bad dog owner, I don’t think so! I did pay for a $1000 hip job, $800 knee job and thousands of dollars over the years.

She shouldn’t be breeding if she can’t afford the vet bills if one of the puppies is sick. Too many dogs in the world (and I am NOT a PETA fan).

If you’re blowing the whistle on her, blow louder.

The only purpose this story serves is to line the kennel of the puppy whose life was saved. This is truly a sad day in the history of journalism.

I think the point of this story should be reversed and blow the whistle on irresponsible pet owners. This woman is suing for the value of the puppy. What does that tell you about her motives?

I don’t understand what the “breeders” problem is. The dog is alive and has found a good home. Sounds like it all worked out well. Unless of course she thinks she could have made a few bucks selling the puppy? But if you’re actually providing the vet care that a puppy and mom dog require you won’t be making any money. Let’s see were the mom dog’s eyes and hips checked and certified. Guessing not since the pups are mixes. How about a story about back yard breeders.

If she wanted the dog back she could have paid the bill. I don’t get my vet services for free either. I can understand that she couldn’t afford to pay for further vet services, but she made a decision to relinquish the dog. There shouldn’t be any story her except for the good will of the veterinarian.

There were some facts that should have been in the story, or clarified in the story, i.e., what were anticipated charges for the pup’s care, is the woman a licenced breeder or an unlicensed breeder. Turning dogs over to the vets, or leaving them at vets, does happen, my dog is one of them. She was brought to vet from pet store to be killed after crawling over pen, getting leg caught, and thrashing all night. A vet employee saved her and they put her back together, she ended up in rescue and ultimately on my living room rug snoozing. Vets charge for their services and people should expect to pay. If she wasn’t willing, which I understand, if my dogs required expensive care I wouldn’t be able to do it, then she gives up her dog. Most vets will care for the dog and work out payments. It seems this was a decision based on worth of the pup to sell. Whistleblower seems as appropriate a section as any, but more information should have been disclosed.

This isn’t a whistleblower story. I’m a breeder, it’s expensive and not a money making venture. Especially when one properly cares about and for the animals they breed. Vets are forced into this situation all the time. That woman was irresponsible, didn’t care enough about her pup to stay with it if it was being euthanized as she claimed. And if it was being treated she knew it would cost something. And now she’s suing, that says a lot.

Anyone who breeds dogs or owns a pet should know that there are expenses involved, sometimes to save a pet and sometimes to say goodbye. I have been taking my pets to this vetenary clinic and this vet for many years.I have complete faith in the judgement of all of the vets at Kelly Animal Hospital. The breeder had the option to seek an opinion from another vetenary clinic and chose not to. All of the employees at Kelly Animal hospital have given my pets excellent care.
