Moore scouting report

UPDATE: Finishing up writing for the paper, plan to go for a quick dinner and I promise to post later tonight with thoughts/analysis of the trade.
At practice in Calgary. Just talked with Joe Starkey, the columnist from the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, who used to be the paper’s Penguins beat writer.
“Moore, I’d say, was their best defensive forward by far. Always helped out the D down low and went into high traffic areas. His bread and butter is penalty killing and Michel Therien didn’t use him there. I’m very surprised they traded him. The Rangers missed him this year and I think the Penguins will miss him.”
Joe said Therien didn’t like him because he felt he didn’t go into high traffic areas or block shots. “I didn’t feel that way at all. He always drove the net and battled with defensemen.”
Very little scoring touch. Was the Penguins’ only solid faceoff guy.
Ill be back on after I finish working tonight to post.
