(From the sports desk):
The Wild just issued a news release confirming the team has acquired C Dominic Moore from Pittsburgh for a third-round pick in June’s entry draft.
Moore, 26, is a Thornhill, Ont., native. He’s played in 59 games with the Penguins this season and played in 82 for the Rangers last year. He’s a plus-1 and has scored six goals and has nine assists this season.
He played four years of college hockey at Harvard (1999-2003) and was a third-round pick of the Rangers in 2000.
When Russo lands, he’ll be back on the blog to bring you more insight into the Wild’s thoughts on this trade and what it means to their lineup down the stretch.
