No Wild players were finalists for any voted awards (Niklas Backstrom won the Saving Grace for best save percentage and Backstrom and Manny Fernandez won the Jennings for the Wild having the fewest goals against), but Wild players did get votes in most categories.
Pierre-Marc Bouchard was the closest to being a finalist. He finished fifth in voting for the Lady Byng (most gentlemanly player) with 167 points (six first-place votes, three second-place votes, 13 third-place votes, four fourth-place votes and nine fifth-place votes). Unlike last year, Derek Boogaard didn’t get a vote.
Brian Rolston also had several votes for the Selke (best defensive forward), finishing 16th in voting.
Others receiving votes:
Marian Gaborik finished 20th in Hart (MVP) voting with two fifth-place votes.
Keith Carney finished 19th in Norris (best defensemen) voting with a third-place vote.
Backstrom finished sixth in Vezina (best goalie) voting.
Jacques Lemaire finished seventh in Jack Adams (Coach of the Year) voting.
Josh Harding actually got a fifth-place vote for the Calder (Rookie of the Year).
Pavol Demitra finished 49th in Lady Byng voting (which he’s won before) and Mark Parrish finished 60th.
In the Selke, Mikko Koivu finished 37th, Todd White and Bouchard were tied for 42nd, Wes Walz was 48th and Parrish was tied for 50th.
For the All-Star teams, Backstrom was fifth among goaltenders, Carney 23rd among defensemen, Gaborik eighth among right wingers and Demitra 14th among left wingers.
