Friday’s practice

Wow, the questions are flying in on the Q&A. Can’t wait to check them out.
Seventeen mothers of Wild players were handed a rose as they boarded the team’s charter today. How was the flight compared to the dad’s last year?
“Lots of noise,” joked coach Jacques Lemaire.
Dominic Moore (abdominal strain) was the only player not to practice today, but he said it’s getting better.
The Wild practiced on an Olympic sheet of ice at the Coyotes’ practice facility this afternoon. Because Lemaire felt his guys weren’t getting any board work, he took the nets, put them along the side walls of one end and played a fast game of shinny (pickup hockey).
Only two players’ moms came to practice — Joyce Rolston and Joanne Boogaard. I asked Boogey’s mom if she told Derek not to fight this trip and she said, “Not yet, but after the [David] Koci fight, that was a tough one.” She was insinuating her son wasn’t exactly the victor.
No word who’s starting tomorrow in goal, although one figures Josh Harding will see one of the games — either tomorrow or Sunday in Anaheim because not only is it back-to-back, it’s not even a full 24 hours later. The game starts 22 hours after tomorrow’s puck drop.
I’ll probably be wrong, but I think red-hot Nik Backstrom plays tomorrow and Harding Sunday. Remember, Harding won a huge back end of a back-to-back last March in Buffalo, so he can handle it.
That’s it from here. Time to, I don’t know, get to the ballpark perhaps.
According to Arizona Republic, Alex Auld, 4-0-1 lifetime vs. Minny, is starting tonight. Minnesota native Peter Mueller will be a scratch.
