Gaborik, Veilleux to return Thursday against the Oilers

Because of a Web Site glitch, my last edition game story is finally on the Star Tribune Wild page.
From Edmonton, the big news of the day is Marian Gaborik is scheduled to play Thursday night against the Oilers.
He’s missed five of the last seven games with a groin injury. The Wild is 1-4 without him.
The Wild obviously plays back-to-back games, so it’ll be interesting to see if he plays Friday in Vancouver or how much he plays tomorrow. Jacques Lemaire said, “Let’s get through one game.”
Pavol Demitra (groin) was scheduled to get on the ice Wednesday in the Twin Cities, although it was just a let’s see how it feels light skate.
On the Keith Carney benching front, Lemaire basically said he felt Carney got off to a slow start, then took the hooking penalty, one in which Calgary scored on. Lemaire said, That’s enough, essentially. He basically said because the Wild is having so much trouble scoring goals, he’s not willing to risk playing somebody who’s going to give up goals.
Carney played 3 minutes, 25 seconds. I assume he’ll be scratched against the Oilers. With Gaborik back, Petteri Nummelin probably goes back to the blue line. With Stephane Veilleux returning, another forward will have to come out, too.
