From the skate, Josh Harding is starting because Niklas Backstrom is sick.

Brian Rolston and Brent Burns returned to the hotel because they’re sick. Yesterdays sick guys all skated this morning and will likely play.

Jacques said he will have no clue what tonights lineup is until 6 pm Pacific when he sees who can skate warmups.

He, like two years ago, went on a rant against sushi, saying why would you eat something that’s been laying around for several days.

The players say this wasn’t food poisoning because not all of them have been eating sushi.

I’ve been sick for two days, and I don’t eat sushi unless cucumber wrapped with rice counts? For the record, I’m writing tonight, and I plan to infect the whole press box.

What a day here! 60 degrees. Not a cloud in the sky. How’s it back there?

Just a reminder, Sunday, as a supplement to my Sunday column, I did a Q&A extra for the blog.

Also, I just got a phone call from a pal to let me know tonight’s game WILL NOT be on Center Ice. If you have DirectTV, NHL Network comes with the Center Ice package, so you’ll get it.

If you have Comcast and you only have Center Ice, the game will be on NHL Network, which you have to buy with the sports package.

The NHL blacks out the game from the regular Center Ice channel so you have to buy its network, which shows some gall considering it’s not even producing the game. They’re just taking the Anaheim feed.

Now, I do have to say, and you know I don’t work for the NHL, but I recommend the NHL Network. I’ve bought it as an extra with my Comcast and the nightly postgame highlights and analysis are first rate and the vintage games they show are awesome.

Tomorrow’s game apparently will be on Center Ice as well as HDNet.
