As I’ve said once or twice on this blog before, there’s something about Vancouver that instantaneously puts you in a good mood the moment you land.
I needed it after a long snowy drive to the Edmonton airport, a flat tire on my rental and travel delays that got me here two hours late. And I’m coming down with something.
This is a feel-good blog, today.
But it’s gorgeous out, and I’ve got a room 30 floors up overlooking the bay and mountains. Life could be worse. As I’ve said before on here, take a trip to Vancouver.
Unfortunately for you diehard Wild fans, I’ve got nothing to offer you today. Jacques Lemaire called an audible and cancelled practice. I’ll be chatting in about a half-hour with Eric Belanger for a story tomorrow, but that’s about it.
Kim Johnsson is still sick and questionable for tomorrow. He hasn’t been on the ice since he played Sunday, so that could be enough to keep him out of Thursday’s game even if he feels better.
Defenseman Willie Mitchell, who I think once played in Minnesota, will return from a back injury Thursday. He missed 10 games, with the Canucks going 3-5-2 in his stretch.
Nothing more on Forsberg. As Canucks GM Dave Nonis said in today’s Vancouver Sun when asked where the Canucks stood in their attempts to sign him, “You’re asking the wrong guy. Call him.”
Everybody with interest is trying to be patient until he makes his decision after this weekend.
That’s it from here.
