Thursday’s game at Carolina

North St. Paul’s Bret Hedican is out tonight against his hometown Wild. He’s been granted a leave of absence for personal reasons.
Dennis Seidenberg will play for the veteran defenseman tonight.
Just chatted for a bit with Virginia, Minn., native Matt Cullen in the locker room. The Canes have a cool policy where they open up the room to the media before the game like the NBA.
Remember, at the July 1 free-agent deadline two years ago, the Wild chose between Cullen and Mark Parrish. Cullen eventually signed a long-term deal with the Rangers before being dealt back to the Hurricanes, the team he won a Cup with two years ago.
In hindsight, Cullen is definitely a better fit in the East. This guy’s a skater, and as we all know, they just don’t skate in the West.
