Greetings. Youngblood here; Russo is taking advantage of the nice day to take a long walk along the Mississippi River.

Jacques put the players through a rather long practice today, which is not surprising since the team had Monday off.  Both Brian Rolston and Pavol Demitra were given the day off from skating.

Afterward, Jacques said he didn’t expect center Eric Belanger, who has a cracked toe, to be available before the regular season ends. Officially, the team is hoping Belanger will return in time for the final few games. But if he doesn’t, that means the Wild will have to go with Mikko, Demitra and James Sheppard down the stretch.

And it promises to be quick a stretch, considering Colorado, Calgary and Vancouver all appear to be hitting stride.

That’s about it. I’ll get back to you after tomorrow’s practice.
