Foster was racing for a touch up icing. Was hit from behind and the last moment and slammed into the boards with his body but the left leg took the brunt of the injury. SJ player fell on top of him but immediately started apologizing and checking on him but the rest of the players on the ice sort of scrummed around for a few seconds.

Foster couldn't really sit on his back and they had to flip him onto his back from his side using a strecher.

I wasn't able to see the game. How did Foster suffer the injury exactly?

WRT - Glad things worked out for you in the Emerald City - as noted above by Russo, JL wents nuts on the ref for not calling a trip on that Skoula play for what its worth. I agree with you, however, that Skoula broke down on that last one, in crunch time no less.

Talking with a medical student friend of mine, she said that a broken femur with rod will take between 3-6 months for recovery depending on extent of the break. We all knew he'd be done for the season with the broken leg, but I was surprised it was that long.
