Lapperi-Scared

PARRISH UPDATE: HEAD INJURY, WON’T RETURN IS ALL WE’RE BEING TOLD

That was the best sign I saw during warmups while visiting some friends in the crowd.

Chris Simon scratched, Mark Parrish in.

Colorado tough-guy Ian Laperriere seemed to be auditioning for the role of the opponent Wild fans would love to hate — remember Todd Bertuzzi in 2003? — when he managed to goad Marian Gaborik into his first career fight in Sunday’s regular-season finale.

But the Avs agitator said he was looking forward to the verbal abuse that may come tonight.

“It’s OK,” Laperriere said. “It’s the playoffs, it’s fun. These fans are unbelievable to start with and if they boo me I’ll take that as a compliment. They know who I am I guess. But what happened last game, that people are making a big deal about, it was more a push than a fight. If they want to boo me, good, they’ll be into it and I’m welcoming that.”

Wes Walz is up here in the press box. Very pumped up.

Scardy-cat’s going down tonight. Boggy’s gonna check him sooo hard he’s gonna crawl off the ice. GO WILD!

BeantownChris says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:07 pm

Ewwwww. CI is carrying the Avs local feed. Why can’t they at least have the TSN feed?

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:09 pm

You should be happy, Chris, you’ll get the added enjoyment of listening to the despair in the voices of the Avs announcers as the Wild take control of the game.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:09 pm

I agree B-town…

matthew says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

So if I have regular dish network, I dont get the game?

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

Back from McGovern’s, enjoyed spending time with kj and the missus, Green*, Dickie Dunn (who really catured the spirt of the thing) and Dave (formerly DaveinMN). 1st off Nick, thank you for your generosity, it was not necessary but very much appreciated. 2nd, the area kj originally wanted was not open when he arrived, he actually searched me out to find me so that was much appreciated. To those who were looking for us, we were in the main area on the 2nd floor accross from the bar. We ridiculed one wandering through with a Avs jersey. Go Wild!

WildLover says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

I’m glad i’m not the only one that has to watch on TV! Glad to see there are a few humble ones. :P

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

Skoula leading the rush? Boogaard firing on goal? I like this series already.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

captured, not catured

WildLover says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

Depends where your from. It also on the local channels such as 45. I only have it on CI.

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:22 pm

Matt where are you? If your in the metro it’s on 45.

matthew says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:23 pm

Thanks. I found it.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:24 pm

sick pace here…really need that first goal though…

matthew says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:24 pm

Nick in New York says:

I’m liking this!

El Gato says:

1st stoppage in what 9 minutes. Firewagon hockey, I like it.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:25 pm

El Gato: wish I’d been there. What was the scene like around the X?

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:28 pm

If Boogie gets a goal, man the roof would come off the X.

Oh and Beadwench (from much earlier today) if your out there, yes I saw my Boogie on the front of the sports section. why do you think I told the Mr not to recycle that one…

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:28 pm

got to make the most of this…

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:28 pm

was it me or did Rolston almost give it right back behind the net there?

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

2 big saves by Jose

scott says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

No it wasn’t just you Nick, I saw that also.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

wow

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

They were setting up a lot of stuff in Rice Park, lots of scalpers with tickets by McGoverns (surprise), don’t know how much. McGoverns was paked by 6. Left at quarter after 7.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:31 pm

Nice pressure, keep it up!

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

Couple of HUGE savess by Theodore on the PP.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:33 pm

Its still remarkable to me that we never see these ticket specials commercials. Hope we never do.

PS.. Forsberg’s eyes are crazy…

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

Another PP. Let’s bury one here!

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

Okay, let’s take advantage of that #30 road PK here.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Lets go WIld….

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Kevin in PA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:35 pm

scott says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:35 pm

its going to happen this time, goal by gabby

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

Nummy on the half boards and Roli on the point on the PP

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:36 pm

If we can get hot on the pp early in this series it could decide the series…big that we haven’t given any pp up yet either.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:37 pm

Jose’s been very sharp here in the first

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:38 pm

Damn it Jose (or as the Mr calls him Josie) miss one of these!!

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:38 pm

Nice play…

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Avs have to be happy to escape that period 0-0. Theodore is looking disturbingly un-Theodore-like.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Solid first period. Jose is hot…

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:43 pm

Meat Loaf!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:43 pm

good period, Jose was very good.

I think the Avs are thinking they “won” that period since they weathered the storm and aren’t trailing.

We really need to score the first goal.

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:43 pm

Walz looked like he was tearing up when he did the LPH.

Strong first, lets play this way in the 2nd and get a goal or 2 to make it even better.

sunshine says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:45 pm

I was almost tearing up when I saw him there, getting ready to do the LPH.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:45 pm

KevininPA, good job. I hope the rest are as easy as this one.

sunshine says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Let’s keep up the intensity. The Avs for some reason always have a stronger 2nd — at least in the last three games we played them.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:47 pm

Why didn’t I have Roberts on my fantasy squad! 4-0

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:47 pm

can somebody please update a guy? ive got to see about 59 sec of the game online..the feed blows where i am (no bars no tv). have they looked crisp?

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:49 pm

Mike: I thought the Wild carried the play for the vast majority of the period. Theodore was the story.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:50 pm

Wild looked like they controlled the play.

Roberts have an assist, he looked like he wanted the GHHT!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

Gary Roberts is a STUD. He’s got Lance Bass turned entirely inside out right now.

kgopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

I agree Bandgeek, Wes was looking a little teary and sounded choked up. Good 1st period, hopefully we can keep up the pace. The 1st goal is going to be key tonight I think.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

Bass punching the back of Gary’s head - from behind…nice.

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

thanks nick. backs seen any action or have we totally dictated? sorry to ask for the play by play buy im really in a bad way here..thanks again

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:52 pm

where you been kgopher?

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:52 pm

Looks like Fozzie will do game 2?

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:53 pm

Mike: no worries…I think Backs had a couple saves (one in particular that I can recall where he was about four feet out of the crease to the stick side)….but we really carried the play.

kgopher’s right about the first goal being huge.

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:54 pm

If the video feed is that bad you might want to bite the bullet and switch to the radio coverage. At least it’ll give you a better idea of who has the momentum, etc.

Wild dominated the play, lots of aggressive plays at the blue line to keep the puck in, good cycling down low, even by Boogaard.

Some good passing by both teams, but also lots of bouncing pucks. I didn’t feel like Backstrom was really tested at all.

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:56 pm

Man i am so pumped for Game 5 can’t wait to go it’s gonna be insane! Anyway got my gloating out of the way nice first by the wild too bad they couldn’t bury one

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:56 pm

MP, Mike’s in Georgia, don’t think the signal is making it that far.

sunshine says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:56 pm

If they score first after we dictated the play, it would really hurt. just saying.

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:57 pm

midwest..no radio here, the two mn guys with me got what we got online and here (Russo’s) which is much better the ticker on nhl.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:58 pm

Mike in GA: can’t you get the radio feed from nhl.com? Click on the game score and then click on Listen! …

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Agreed sunshine, we need the 1st tally!

Kevin in PA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Thanks El Gato.

GARY GARY GARY! He had the Sens on the ice chasing him! WOO!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

11-2 shots in the 1st, wild’s favor…man do we want that first goal!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:00 pm

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

Gaby! Good grief!!

kgopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:03 pm

Been around NiNY just have been busy, haven’t had anything to say that hasn’t been brought up, the future Mr. gets annoyed when I blog during games. SH1T. While I type Avs score.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:03 pm

I think Kimmy should have stayed with the guy in the middle…

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

Austin: maybe, but when he didn’t Gaby definitely should have.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:04 pm

well, crap.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Tough call, it was Sauer in the middle and Sakic with the puck. I’d probably shadow Sakic.

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Five guys standing around watching the Avs skate before the whistle. Yikes.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

that doesn’t look like fun…wrist

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:05 pm

It looked like Gabby peeled that direction, but he was a step behind. Regardless, it’s bad news.

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

nick, the crew here thanks you for the audio feed idea.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

Oh no… this is not good… not good at all. Someone must pay.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

I’m here to help, Mike.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:06 pm

We can’t afford many more skaters.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:07 pm

Poor Parrish, he really looked like he was skating well tonight and getting involved. Hope he’s OK.

Bandgeek says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:09 pm

Bloody hell!!! What a hoser. If Solie doesn’t get his ass turned into a hat by someone…..

Alex says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:10 pm

Add Salei to The List. First game that gets out of hand… and add to my frustration having to listen to these ALT nimrods.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:10 pm

Hope this lights a fire under the boys’ bums!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:10 pm

I’m thinking left knee watching him limp off like that.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Must. Score. HERE!

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:11 pm

“and add to my frustration having to listen to these ALT nimrods.”

I’m just glad we don’t have those Calgary jerks tonight.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

We better score on this PP because 1 or 2 penalties are coming our way.

brock says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

I bet there was a nice replay of it on VS. HD!

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

YES, another PP. Lets go…

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:12 pm

Time to score on the PP get some life in the team of 18,000

Alex says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Rogue: that’s called damning with faint praise. But agreed.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Boogey getting some PP time.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:15 pm

too bad roli’s shot didn’t catch Lappy in the more tender areas..

Time for some Gabonomics!!!

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:16 pm

The wild should not be losing right now it’s so frustrating!

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:18 pm

Cowgary 1-0

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:18 pm

They are skating the freaking arses off out there. They deserve a freaking goal!!!

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:19 pm

Flipped over to the Twins during the commercial break just in time to see Jason Kubel hit a grand slam. Hopefully Minnesota Sports karma comes through for us.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:19 pm

This game has such a different feel than game 1 last year (or all the games). A year ago you felt like we were holding on by our finger nails.

At least down a goal you don’t have that ominous we’re screwed feeling in the back of your mind.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:20 pm

does it seem like Boogey is pretty easy to knock off his balance?

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:20 pm

Boogey on Forsberg, sweet.

Midwest Product says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:20 pm

Flames 2-0

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Midwest, it’d be great to see more of that from Kubel this year…

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

I’ve had about enough of the Avs gaining our zone with a 3:2

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Damn, didn’t expect Cal to be up on SJ by 2 this early.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:22 pm

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:27 pm

Damnit!!!

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

two good goals, though. I don’t blame Backs on either.

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

Not good

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:29 pm

I’d say we HAVE to get one back by the end of the period here.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:30 pm

here’s our chance.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:30 pm

Agreed on the ‘good goals’ post Nick.. not so much with the ‘must get one’ post.

MNWildFan13 says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:30 pm

Mike: plenty of the goals I give up are my fault. ;)

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:32 pm

Thank god the Twinkies are blowing out the Sox wouldn’t want to have to pick between the two

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:34 pm

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:34 pm

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:34 pm

Sooo close Boogie!

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:35 pm

A few more great chances, This game is killing me!

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:35 pm

chances are not what we need Nick… we need a FARKING GOAL!

MNWildFan13 says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:35 pm

I have a feeling that once one goes in, a few more might follow closely.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:35 pm

Mike: your last name isn’t Palmateer, is it? :P

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:36 pm

I hope you’re right #13

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:36 pm

haha no

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:37 pm

Did Koivu take a stick to the face on that draw?

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:38 pm

I mean…I don’t know what I’d tell them to do differently in the third!

Very frustrating.

MikeInGA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:39 pm

the boys better dig really deep for the third! we got a good feeling here

dan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:39 pm

RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:39 pm

Nick, that is the truth. they are doing everything right. They just can’t get the puck in the farking net. this is extremely frustrating.

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:39 pm

This is a tough one since they’ve played generally well. Need to poke a hole in Jose’s dam.

El Gato says:

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:40 pm

dan: that would be one thing!

Wallshot says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Well, that was disappointing. I felt they needed to win game 1 to take this series.

It’s not looking good in for this team in the third.

They really played great. I’m dumbfounded.

GAWWWD, I hate the Lanche.

El Gato says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:41 pm

The answer: 4-22-3.

We keep playing like this, we’ll score eventually, and win the series. (trying to be positive here.)

Lemmiwinks_ahp says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:44 pm

Well Backs couldn’t have done anything differently on those two. I agree with #13…once they get the first one past Theo, that will start the ava…..not going to go there with that pun. 2 exams in 1 day = one tired Lemmi

RogueGopher says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:44 pm

What is the Wild’s record when trailing after two?

Mike says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Another first round bust for Risedump’s losers.

Don’t worry Schultz, you’ll have plenty of time to heal up for the opener in October. There’ll be no round two for you and the rest of the slappies.

Nick in New York says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Mike wins.

what DO you call a troll that trolls his own team, by the way? WTF was that?

April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Nick,

What is their record trailing after 2?

Secuel says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

scott has a good point. However, a loss tonite puts A LOT of pressure on Game 2.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 9:45 pm

Alex, I heard that too…very disappointing.

Nick in New York says:

So guys: since I got home, I didn’t see the puck in Colorado’s zone much… and before you say I should leave home, keep in mind I WAS home when Fedoruk scored. ;)

Though it seems to me the team that gets a bunch of chances but can’t bury them is the one that often loses.

Good goal for Calgary, 3-1. Whew.

Lagavulin 16, almost as good as a playoff win and costs as much as a ticket. It is a ‘classic’, If you like smoke go for it. If you really like smoke get Ardbeg.

El Gato says:

Kevin, your Pens blew away the Otts, that must be nice. hopefully we can get a result like that on Friday.

BDS says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:11 pm

OK, it’s anyones game in OT. We should have capitalized on our opportunities early in the game. No need to put there heads down. I just widh at times that they would put the puck more on the net. PMB had a chance in OT where he just waited for the trailer and then passed the puck instead of getting it on the net. No time or place for that fancy stuff.

Jaswany says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Kevin in PA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:13 pm

BDS says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:13 pm

See you at McGoverns on Friday!

Aaron in Houston says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:13 pm

I was thinking to myself, “Nummy, get back down to the net” right before that puck went in.

Good to know Nummy was chasing the Avs forward up around the blue line. At least he got a good seat for the rebound goal from the top of the faceoff circle.

BDS says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:14 pm

Kev, your Pens looked very solid tonight.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:16 pm

Overall I really thought Nummy played well. I never understood why he sat in the popcorn booth so often. He passes very well.

BDS says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:17 pm

Aaron, there was no way anyone was getting to that rebound. Not Nummy nor Skoulas fault on that one.

Maybe someone should have been able to get on the D so he couldn’t have got his shot off so cleanly.

IrishPurple says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:18 pm

Fuck me I can’t listen these damn announcers anymore. Godnight all!!!

Kevin in PA says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:18 pm

Yes they did, BDS. At one point shots were 25-13.. then Ottawa got a bunch of PPs and balanced things out. I wish we’d buried a couple more of those great chances we had in the second. I was nervous for about 30 minutes of action. That’s sort of nitpicking though. Hopefully we’ll keep it up Friday.

BDS says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:19 pm

I’m off to bed.

Secuel says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:22 pm

Nummy plays better against teams that aren’t very physical. He looked good tonite, as did a lot of guys. Overall, the Wild looked like a better team from last year. I’m expecting a similar game Friday with a better result for the good guys.

AustinTXwildfan says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:22 pm

Looks like everyone is bailing out. I am getting a bit tired too. Winding down wasn’t as tough as I thought it might be. Great effort boys.

Aaron in Houston says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:24 pm

If Nummy played well he wouldn’t have been chewed out for a solid 30 seconds by Lemaire and he would have been down low protecting the net in OT not taking a tour of the blue line chasing after a forward.

On the plus side it really looked like the Wild were outskating the Avs in OT. Although the Avs will be better adjusted for the altitude, playing two playoff games in two nights might just be an advantage for the Wild.

Iceman says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:27 pm

We are the stonger team.

Iceman says:

April 9th, 2008 at 11:40 pm

All of the Avs goals came off a bounce.

Iceman says:

Also, the non-call on Nummi sucks.

GreenStar says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:02 am

NiNY - your generosity was appreciated. You ever find your way back to the cities when the wild are in town, you got yourself a seat in 114.

too f’n tired to comment much. maybe more tomorrow. I will say this though…that was one good hockey game. i mean i’m not all that happy we lost but if i didn’t have a dog in that fight, i’d have been damn happy I tuned in. That’s how it translated to me in my seats, hopefully it looked the same on the tele. Hopefully TSN treated it well, which I am sure they did. I love pierre mcguire. after our Don, i think he is the best in the business.

OK, i gotta go to bed.

Danny says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:02 am

In the car on way home from the game, Dark Star had Darby Hendrickson on. Darby said that Parrish was taken to the hospital for further evaluation of his head injury, and was released.

Darby seemed to agree with “Day to Day” as an assesment, but who knows. The good news is that he’s allowed to go home, and won’t be staying overnight at the hospital.

April 10th, 2008 at 12:11 am

OK, can’t say much about the game as the thing speaks for itself. Up and down, and I have to give a lot of credit the Jose Theodore for keeping it even in the first. I think the Wild were a bit punched out after they tied it up, in part because they came out flying in the first.

So get this. There was no Sharks-Flames game to be seen on TV here. VS was blacked out and the local station, CSNB, formerly FSNBA, had baseball on both of their channels. WTF is the NHL doing?

tough one tonight, but I really can’t complain cause theboyas played prettty well, i thought. Oh, and I’m not gonna pretend to spell well on this one, so bear with me.

Don’t know what happened - wore the same clothes as last Thurs. Maybe I buy a jersey?? Me and Hockeybro switched seats at the start of the 3rd and that worked well. Gotta come back strong Friday night and, obviously, get one in Denver. Deserved to win tonight, but credit the Avs for hanging around, too. They played a good road playoff game.

Hockeydad says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:20 am

Danny, caught the end of that. Certainly good news for Parry. Weird play though - I wathced it happened. He didn’t get hit hard andit looked like he hadtime to avoid the wall, but oh what a noise when he hit it. Looked like an arm/shoulder/collar bone at first.

Hockeydad says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:23 am

Holy crap - can’t spell. Good night

woodcock says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:25 am

Lemaire was saying that the center was supposed to go low on that play and didn’t. Damn we were really pumped at the X when we tied it and when we stopped the penalty shot. Ohh Burns was so close. Tough, tough after coming back.

Claire says:

April 10th, 2008 at 12:37 am

Remember Parrish had that head injury already this season, cumulative concussions are not good even if he paassed the test. He supposedly passed some test before, went back to play and then was out again so who knows whst any of it means they are way too vaugue during playoffs.
