PARRISH UPDATE: HEAD INJURY, WON’T RETURN IS ALL WE’RE BEING TOLD

That was the best sign I saw during warmups while visiting some friends in the crowd.

Chris Simon scratched, Mark Parrish in.

Colorado tough-guy Ian Laperriere seemed to be auditioning for the role of the opponent Wild fans would love to hate — remember Todd Bertuzzi in 2003? — when he managed to goad Marian Gaborik into his first career fight in Sunday’s regular-season finale.

But the Avs agitator said he was looking forward to the verbal abuse that may come tonight.

“It’s OK,” Laperriere said. “It’s the playoffs, it’s fun. These fans are unbelievable to start with and if they boo me I’ll take that as a compliment. They know who I am I guess. But what happened last game, that people are making a big deal about, it was more a push than a fight. If they want to boo me, good, they’ll be into it and I’m welcoming that.”

Wes Walz is up here in the press box. Very pumped up.
