Finally, Game 3

Aaron Voros and Chris Simon in. No Matt Foy. Defense the same. Hannan in, Leopold out.
It was so nice out around 5ish, I decided to walk to the arena rather than take the media bus. But instead of dragging my bag the couple miles or so, I threw it onto the bus.
Of course, I beat the bus to the arena, so I wound up talking to the CBC photog who was assigned to get B roll of the players entering the arena for CBC’s Intro tonight.
I couldn’t do anything until my bag got to the arena, so I was helping the guy ID Avalanche players and the few Wild players who opted to take cabs rather than the bus.
The funniest shot he got was a purple Freedom Cab van that pulled up to the players’ entrance. Out came the Goonies, Derek Boogaard, Todd Fedoruk and Chris Simon, all with Starbucks coffees, all with their pregame growls on their face.
They even paid. As the cab pulled away, I am not kidding when I say the cabbie screamed, “Beat Minnesota.” If he had said it a few seconds earlier, I might really have had a story on my hands.
I do have one piece of news. Avs defenseman Scott Hannan could barely walk into the arena. It honestly took him two minutes to walk the 100 yards from his car into the building.
So he’s definitely hurt, which could be one reason why Jordan Leopold is apparently a gametime decision.
Still no word on the Wild’s roster. We’ll see if Matt Foy will get a shot. Of Foy, Aaron Voros and Simon, two will play I’d think. Unless Benoit Pouliot plays wing, which I don’t see.
Vancouver Canucks GM Dave Nonis has been fired.
More soon.
