toivo: agreed on all counts. I think (and I admit it's hazy) that your line “No, I can’t can’t compare, that’s for you to do.” was after he said "He can't compare to me" which was accompanied by that grin and I took to mean was therefore in jest.

Splitting hairs.

Austin, I thought I made it very clear that I thought the refs let a lot go on both sides. Malone high sticked someone, that slash you mentioned that I forgot (by Crosby on the PP), and Gill knocked either Holmstrom or Franzen down away from the play and whichever Swede it was ended up behind Fleury in the net and injured. I just thought the Wings got away with more, which often seemed, to my eyes, to rob the Penguins of a great scoring opportunity.

I obviously saw a different game than everyone else though. Call me a homer if you want (I wonder what the sentiment is if others were in my position; I've seen disgruntled fans here before), but I thought I repeatedly said the Pens got away with some obvious stuff too.

Malkin's hook at the end? Penalty. Did Detroit and probably the Pens do that throughout the previous 35 minutes or so of play? Someone had to have. Yet they let everything go until the final four minutes in a one-goal game. That's as much my problem as anything. I'm not questioning Malkin's hook, nor even the timing, I just wonder where the hell that call was throughout the rest of the game.

Now let me go find a dead horse to continue to beat.

Wheeler is no dope, he's going to end up with less money, but better opportunity elsewhere. Coyotes weren't too high on him and he was going to be relegated to San Antonio behind a lot of guys. Look for him to land somewhere without a lot of Right Wing depth in the minors, and willing to give college guys chances.

Kevin, I know you are done with talking about the game, but I couldn't help but notice you calling out the refs for not calling the Wings on a few blatent penalties (I don't blame you, if it were the Wild out there I would be doing the same). But you fail to mention that slash that "insert Penguins player that I can't remember here" put on a Wing in the corner. The Pens player broke his stick in half with a two handed chop to a Wings stick, and the ref was only 10 feet away from the play. They let a lot of things slide on both ends, it was not just the Wings taking advantage of the "loose" officiating.

Luckily AO didn't look like a jackass. Good answer to the very uncomfortable question "Who's better you or Crosby". WTF kinda question is that!! But AO recovered well. I like that kid.

Is there nothing new with the Wild. It's like they fell off the planet.
