If you’re interested in former Gopher Nate Hagemo, he talked to Raleigh News & Observer reporter Luke DeCock, who’s been working this story all week. Here’s the story.

Here’s a story on the Stanley Cup’s visit to hang with Mark Hartigan at Lake Minnetonka last weekend.

Good evening, although it’s quite sunny out. I know you’ve anxiously been awaiting all day for scrimmage results, but first, here’s some news.

Tyler Cuma, the Ottawa 67s defenseman taken in the first round last month by the Wild, will miss the rest of camp after spraining his right MCL this morning in practice. I didn’t see it, but assistant GM Tommy Thompson said Cuma made a hit in front of the net and his knee extended out. 2007 draft pick Carson McMillan accidentally fell on top of Cuma.

It was an unlucky couple of days for Cuma, who also took a stick below the eye yesterday.

Also, defenseman Paul Albers missed this afternoon’s scrimmage with a bruised foot, and Matt Kassian is still out as he recovers from shoulder surgery.

As for the scrimmage, if your favorite color is green, you’d be sadly disappointed. The white team pounded the green team, 4-1.

For white, Petr Kalus, Justin Hodgman, Benoit Pouliot (whom I wrote about for Friday’s paper) and Cody Almond scored. James Sheppard scored a very sweet goal for green, turning a 1-on-1 with the defenseman into a sudden breakaway. He roofed a pretty goal.

Almond, a 2007 fifth-round pick, stood out to me. Not just the goal, but very physical. Marco Scandella, taken in the second round last month, might be a defenseman, but man, he’s got some moves that make him look like a forward at times. He was pretty brilliant on one penalty shot.

Chris Hickey, who went to Cretin-Derham Hall and is from St. Paul, also had a sweet shootout move.

And I’ll tell you, you’ll like Colton Gillies. Plays with a mean streak, very big, good skater. He clobbered defenseman Sean Lorenz on one sequence, and it wasn’t pretty.

Cal Clutterbuck was also hammering unsuspecting opponents.

Friday, the Wild prospects will be at the Metrodome playing softball. McMillan and Justin Falk are apparently stud baseball players, so they should excel.

OK, that’s it for now.

Just an fyi, you’ll be hearing from me less and less in the coming weeks as I take some  (OK, a good amount of) time off. But I’ll jump on to give you updates every now and then, and I promise, I’ll keep up with Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Marian Gaborik news, which is obviously the two most pressing matters for the Wild for the rest of the summer.
