Ok... its typical. Lemaire does not adapt his coaching to the skill set of his players he has. Rather, the players need to adapt to HIS system. Period. DR went on and on about how Mark needed to change his game. Well, you dont bring in a guy like Parrish with a distinct style and expect him to change his game after x number of years in the league. Maybe that's why none of the marquee players want to work with JL. Hockey as in all sports, you bring out the best in the guys you have. No wonder his asthma flared up. All the stress of coming here and his expectations completely shattered but a stubborn coach. Good luck Mark. You deserved better.

It's one thing to screw up a draft pick on a young turk. It's a whole 'nother to sign a player who has years of NHL experience to a 5 year deal and then bag him after 2 years. Cripes 'eh. Didn't you scout him to see if he was going to fit? Parrish had a tough year last year because of injury and illness. Heck, it probably took him until June to clear out the cobwebs after his concussion. The Wild either believe he is damaged goods or they just plain screwed up in signing him. Neither side can control the first, but the second would be akin to not signing Brunette in degree of mistakes made.

I've said it several times here, but to me the Wild is not any one player or coach or management suit.

Considering that opinion, I think Buddha's analysis is pretty much spot on.

There are going to be guys we wish we signed every season, trades we see and think "hey, we have a 4th round pick and a potential 30 goal scorer we could have sent to them for that guy", FAs we would have given the same contract to.

That perennial clean slate on which to judge management is one of the things that has to keep Cubbies fans going (almost typed Red Sox fans...oops, dammit).

I couldn't care less if moves made or not made make you be less of a fan. I know you couldn't care less if moves made or not made make me be more of a fan.

I wasn't good enough to play this game at the professional level - not even close. I am lucky that I get forums like this to pretend that my passion for the game gives me a license to express opinions about same as though I carry any authority at all.

Everything else is temporary.
