I'm by no means a Wild fan. Their another expansion team in an already water-down league. I bleed Ranger Blue, always have, always will. If Minnesota was smart, they would make a play for FA Brendan Shannahan. NYR's GM Glen Sather isnt signing him, and he would be a terrific fourth-liner. He's a proven winner and has the heart of a champ, one thing the Wild lack; especially come April. Minnesota doesnt do well in April b/c they lack gamers who have that "Winner's Mentality". Demitra was a waste, Sundin will never come here, so go after a champion in Brenden Shannahan. Then again, no team in Minnesota has a "Winner's Mentality", so maybe Shanny would be a bad fit.

I think that it is reasonable to think that something is not right in the discussions. Mister Know it all will tell everyone the way it is. If the Wild give up Gabby they will want proven goods in return, no doubt ? I would say two forwards with good speed, skill, and character would be DRs recipe… Deres no doubt

Mister Know it all. My hat goes off to you. You are truly remarkable. I would only disagree a tiny bit and hopefully you don’t get mad at me. Might the Wild throw Skoula in the miz and try to add even more mobility to the mix ?

Russo probably won't start releasing those stories until it gets closer to training camp or if the Wild does a kickoff event at the MOA like last year.

I don't expect to hear anything from the Wild about Gaborik until next week while the RNC is in the building. Any good news will be drowned out by the event. On the flip side, any bad news will be drowned out too.

They are having enough trouble selling papers, don't want Wild stories drowned in purple crap. All about RNC this week, Purple next week, Gophers football & Twins after that, then it will be Wild's turn. They only devote ink when it is time for season to start or when there is real news to tell. Chips will fall when Sundin figures it out, Selanne is re-signed, Schneider is traded, and Khabibulin is traded. That should fix most team's cap troubles and make trading partners more apparent for Wild.
