Morning skate, more radio time

I’ll be on KFAN with Chad Hartman at 2:20 p.m.
Like last week, this was a much better blog until I just lost it. I don’t know if we’re having server problems or the wireless in the X press box is lousy right now. I’m not getting much of a signal.
But here’s a quick refresher of what I had previously written.
Looks like the Wild will only have one predictable change to its lineup. Derek Boogaard, who always plays against Vancouver, will be in for Colton Gillies.
Owen Nolan didn’t skate this morning, but it looks like he was the only Wild player who exercised his option.
The Canucks had a team-wide option, except for a scattering of players that included Ryan Johnson and Darcy Hordichuk. I know that because they came over to say hi. To Kevin Falness’ credit, he kept his mouth shut and didn’t make fun of the ex-Panther connection after.
Word circulating this morning was that Roberto Luongo will get the night off for backup Curtis Sanford.
Sanford, 3-2 with a 2.63 goals against average in seven all-time appearances against Minnesota, has started just one game this season.
The Wild has to make a roster move, and it looks like goalie Nolan Schaefer will be returned to Houston. He was packing his bag, and since Chris Snow gave him his flight information, I think that’s a sure sign.
Harding practiced this morning and lasted the whole skate. This means Tomas Mojzis is staying, although, technically the Wild can now send him to the minors over the next 30 days.
Not much else to tell you. Jacques Lemaire was pretty funny this morning. He had a back and forth conversation with a local columnist that was pretty comical. Lemaire then dragged me into it, saying that he tries his best to give me confidence because then that makes his job easier.
You’ll have to watch it on Wild TV on the team web site to get the full drift.
Lots of work to do and little time, and I know I’m about to be distracted by the 1 p.m. employee hockey game. Hoping Doug Risebrough plays. I know Snow, the Wild’s director of hockey ops and former Star Tribune beat writer, is playing. He’s very good. Matt Benz, one of the Wild’s equipment guys, is playing, too. I’ll let you know his talent level in a little bit.
Bye until tonight.
