Gameday update: Kolanos recalled; Ellis out; Harding in?
Posted on December 6th, 2008 – 1:18 PMBy Brian Stensaas
Greetings from sunny, warm Nashville. And yes, that’s Nashville, Tenn. I did make it to the correct city.
News today Wildside is that forward Krys Kolanos was recalled from Houston. He received word late last night he would be rejoining the big club, and got in around 9:15 this morning. I saw him in the hotel lobby prior to heading over to Sommet Center for the morning skate. The kid looked a little tired, but was excited to be here.
“When they [the call-ups] come you have to be more than ready to roll with it,” Kolanos said of the rapid timeframe. “I’m going to give them another good look and show them that being a regular around here is a definite possibility.”
Other news today involves two goalies. It appears Josh Harding will make a second straight start in Nashville. He was in net for that physical 6-2 victory here last Saturday.
Predators goalie Dan Ellis, meanwhile, is out for tonight’s game after taking a puck off his knee in practice this morning. That means Pekka Rinne is in again for the Preds. Rinne is 5-0-0 this season with a 2.64 GAA. He has started the past two games to give Ellis a rest, Nashville coach Barry Trotz had said. Ellis was scheduled to be back in net tonight.
In closing, there’s a rumor floating around that Carrie Underwood will be in the house tonight. I’m doing some super in-depth reporting to see if this is true. She’s playing Sommet Center tomorrow and does not have a show tonight, so it would make sense she’s around. It is Nashville, after all. Nashville, Tenn. that is. ![]()
