As I suspected Krys Kolanos is on the ice. No official word yet of a recall but Eric Belanger (ill) is not skating.

Anything less than a hat trick for Kolanos will be a disappointment based on recent Russoville expectations :) Now if we could just get Benny to wing …

Don Russo, Be sure to ask Comrie about Hilary Duff…

Kolanos is not exactly the second coming and I would rather than have Belanger there. But maybe he can get Benny and Shep moving.

Woodcock - I’ll be at the game to night as well. I’m looking for us to finally win one.

Gillies in for Weller, you think? I think we might be weakened at center with Kolanos but he will have to do since Belanger is out.

I hope its not the flu and the other guys don’t catch it. It was around this time last year that the flu bug was going around during the CA road trip swing and the team had to put the guys in separate rooms for a couple days on the road trip.

Mitch Fritz (6′8, 258lbs) vs Boogaard. It’s go time!

Thanks for posting that item about Steve Moore in the last thread, Buddha. Funny how Avery is a leper and Bertuzzi is apparently accepted by players in this league.
Per an ESPN article I found from 2007, Moore has a degree in environmental sciences and public policy from Harvard so perhaps he will be able to go on to something else and be OK.
As for Bertuzzi, I pray to Earl Hickey that Karma’s got it covered, because he hasn’t had much of a punishment yet, IMO.

Chris Simon gets more support than Avery. You hear practically all his former teammates say that he’s a great guy. I don’t think you hear that about Avery.

“Moore has a degree in environmental sciences and public policy from Harvard so perhaps he will be able to go on to something else and be OK.”

That may be but there are no jobs in environmental services that pay $950,000/year.

Fritz is up with the big club? Geez. He was just down in Houston fighting John Scott the other day.

MsC, I think we may have a new nickname for young Pouliot.

French Dip isn’t good enough?

Ugh. The frosted sugar Aeros side of me is way bummed about Kolanos. The wheat Wild side of me is happy he’s getting a chance to show his stuff and hopes he makes the right impression.

I have some more info on the Sundin saga. According to Swedish media (aftonbladet)Ohlund was instrumental in convincing Sundin he was very wanted in Vancover. They have the same agent and Ohlund called Sundin the other day to convince him Nukes was the team to pick.

Once again, Kimmy Johnson, doesn’t have the pull among fellow Swedes to aid in the Wild’s cause. No help with Foppa, Huselius, or Sundin.

Why was he fighting his own teammate?

sunshine: I don’t believe the Wild has any player named Mitch Fritz in the organization.

Fritz is an Islanders guy. But he was down in the A with Bridgeport not too long ago. Ahh, the life of a goon. (And speaking of a guy who looks like he’s gone native… Fritz is one crunchy looking dude.)

I see your point, Sunshine. I suppose if a guy like Bertuzzi shows up on your team and gets along with everyone and is at least somewhat productive on the ice, you probably aren’t going to waste your time and energy carrying a chip on your shoulder about the guy’s history. I am probably just still sore about his OT winner from Wednesday.

Puterschmidt: I meant “be OK” as in move on with his life. I’m not sure what he made during his pro hockey career but I would imagine he’s already OK in that area. Not to mention that he will likely at least get some sort of settlement out of the lawsuit in Toronto.

Ms. C: You’ve been on fire these last couple weeks, thanks for the laughs!

Steve R says:

Mats is going to get what? 40 points this year? That’s worth a pro-rated $10M (or so) for the season…?

BDS says:

December 19th, 2008 at 12:01 pm

Steve R - Since the lock-out he has averaged about a point a game. So how ever many games they have left that should be about the point he will get. Now, you could argue he will be surounded by better players in Nukeland and might improve these numbers, but who know.
