Stephane Veilleux missed practice today. According to assistant GM Tom Lynn, Veilleux’s leg got sore overnight. He is listed as probable for tomorrow night. Other than that, no news.
I’m waiting for Edmonton’s practice now and don’t have my laptop on me, so this might be your blog for the day.
By the way, Phoenix couldn’t get out of here last night because of fog in Vancouver and surrounding airports in Seattle and Spokane. But because the Oilers checked into the Coyotes’ hotel rooms, they had to scramble for hotel rooms last night at another hotel. The Coyotes practiced before the Wild today, so three NHL teams are practicing at the X today.
The Wild nearly practiced outside today at Phalen, but that was scrapped because of the dangerous cold.
Also, more funny stuff from Boogaard and Clutterbuck today. Boogaard asked me how many fights Mikko Koivu’s been involved in during his career. Clutterbuck was filling out a survey and one of the questions was who’s the most underrated player in the league.
He goes, “Boogey. May not score all the time, but….”
If you don’t know what I’m referring to, read the notebook.
Looks like half the St. Paul police force is here to watch Dwayne Roloson practice. He’s buddies with a bunch of them. Although, Roloson didn’t go on the ice today. Coach Craig MacTavish wouldn’t say who’s starting in goal tomorrow. Like the Oilers, Roloson hasn’t had success against the Wild since he’s left.
He’s looked great recently though, especially last night in Washington. MacTavish said Ales Hemsky will not be in the lineup again against the Wild (concussion). Ryan Potulny, the former Gopher, should be though.
OK all this was off my Blackberry, so that’s plenty, ha. I’ll be on KSTP at 6 p.m.
