No to Heatley. Two teams already in his brief career should tell you something. And now wanting to go to a 3rd. Also, whoever picks him up has to pick up the $4MM. The Wild don’t need to waste that money. It would be irresponsible.

Also, the commentary on Richards & Leddy’s uncle or whoever, says volumes IMO that this was a homer, appease the locals pick.

Reid’s last night was o.k.-
Not anywhere full as I thought it might be after being ‘featured’ on this blog…
They had a table at the entrance with Official Wild draft guides, prospect reports, Central Scouting rankings, and latest Hockey News rankings. Was pretty nice-
Crowd was very quiet at #12, until it was obivious they were trading down, then everyone just went back to talking….no cheers or boos…
Folks around me were upset at no Schroeder….not unhappy w/Leddy…I think he just isn’t as well known a commodity as Schroeder is….yet.
I’m good with it so far…..

TT, if you are expecting Nick Leddy to grow, you may be right, or you may be disappointed. Because the wife’s genes also come into play. I am 6′4″, my wife 5′4″. My 19 year-old son is about the size of Nick. You can’t teach size, and size matters in the NHL.

Nick Leddy is a fine pick, just not that early in the first round. Or even in the first round. Particularly considering the level of talent he played against, versus virtually all others (except the Andover kid) in the first round.

Interesting to see Gaborik’s brother, or dad, whoever that was, at the draft table.
