I may be too late, ms. c, but just in case:

As a current resident of the KC area, here are my suggestions:

Eat some BBQ. Tons of it here, and varying opinions on what's best, but virtually everyone love Oklahoma Joe's. At 47th & Mission on the Kansas side. It's in a gas station (really).

If you're into this kind of thing, I highly recommend visiting the World War I memorial and museum.

If you like hip, downtown entertainment districts, we have the brand new Power & Light district w lots of bars, restaurants, some theaters, etc.

If you're a shop-a-holic, then visit Country Club Plaza ("the Plaza" to locals) as suggested by WRT.

And FYI, the new improvements to Kaufman stadium are very nice. Be sure to get up and walk around it once if you go.

No problem! I really enjoyed it! I am glad that I was able to give you guys some views on what I saw. It is hard knowing that we have a long time before we get to see more hockey!

Good Time Yesterday,

Glad Russo got a good ovation during his brief interview :).

All those sections were pretty full, I would guess that would be about 2-3K.

I certainly don't have thoughts on the players better than Ben's. I agree Gilles looked really good, but it's hard to see how that'll translate against NHL talent (albiet probably 4th line NHL talent when he does get in the lineup).

Still it was a taste of winter in July, and I enjoyed it thoroughly :).

Ms. C.: At least from KC you could make trips up here easier to see 'the big club' play at home. Also, trips to Chicago, St. Louis and Colorado become easier, also...

Gunslinger: I get e-mails from the 'Yotes all the time. Last season they offered single game tickets at the group discount (35% off) price between mid-August and mid-September. I'll keep you in mind...

SotB: I think you need a trip to Newark this season, to go see your buddy Marty S. play this winter. You seem to be as obsessed with Skoula as everyone else claimed I was.
