Wild makes minor-league signings

The Wild signed free-agent center Nathan Smith on Wednesday to a one-year, $550,000 contract. He’ll make $80,000 in the minors.
Smith, 27, a former Vancouver Canucks’ first-round pick, has played 17 NHL games over parts of four seasons with Vancouver and Pittsburgh. In 2007-08, he played for Wild coach Todd Richards in Wilkes-Barre, where he scored 50 points in 68 games.
Wild has also signed Ryan Lannon to an NHL deal. The ex-Harvard dman is also a former Baby Pen. Will likely be announced Thursday.

I wasn’t thinking of Pavelski. Trading him does not give them any salary relief. Actually, it’s hard to determine where Harding may go when his salary has not been determined. If his arbitration puts him at 1.5, he’s much more valuable than if he’s at 2.5.

Nabokov is in the last year of his deal so Harding to the Sharks has possibilities.

why trade for a 40 year old center, if you can trade for a 23-30 year old winger/center that is better?
basic gm knowledge if you ask me…..
the only way I worry about not signing koivu is if we trade for someone with an 8 mil cap hit,or two 4 mil cap hits…..and if those players are overpaid as well…..(if we could get an 8 mil a player who deserves it…..I would be doing an irish line dance…..by myself……because I don’t have enough people in the house here…..unless cats can do a river dance……how would they fit into those shoes?……if they could would they need t sharpen their claws anymore……would the shoes be velcro or string…..what happened to velcro shoes…….

Chris in CA. Pavelski is Wild type material and he will be a ufa next year. I am keeping an open mind and simply looking at options because everyone says I have a one track mind that Modano is the guy
I say I know of no other guy that makes sense that the Wild can get besides Modano

Wallshot= Marleau would be great but that is the sharks captain and he is only 29. If the Wild can get him without damaging our assets and weakening other areas I am for it

I can assure all of you MKIA and myself are two different people. That hurts when someone on the previous post took a guess that I was also MKIA. As for Pavelski, I think he has two more years before he’s a UFA. He just turned 25. He becomes a UFA at age 27, doesn’t he?

Evil- That was good stuff- I have no aligence to Modano . Honestly, if I had a life sized doll that could be purchased at Target and the two chices were Misconduct or Mike Modano. I would take Misconduct even if she was $ 1000.00 more.
I think Modano makes sense and no other idea that I have heard makes better sense. Nathan Smith or Bob Johnson or David Anderson ?? Whatever his name is should have been kept a secret and not published
Honestly, I am bringing Modano up as many times as I have because it is an opportunity for the GM to show he has balls.
Everybody on here gave DR crap for not having the balls to make deals out of fear. So far he is making no Bold Moves as you all were hoping for. NOT ONE !
Yes it is early Evil I agree, but in no way should we assume he is going to make a bold move.
I would say the job he is doing could be viewed as an energetic younger version of DR.

I just was looking at the 4 teams KJ thought that Harding would go to for a center that made sense. I could see the Wild being interested in Pavelski now or at sometime.
