The scrimmage is about to begin. I’ll be as good as I can updating the blog as goals occur, but I’m writing a feature for tomorrow’s paper on Brent Burns, so I may miss a few things.
By the way, prospect Carson McMillan will miss the scrimmage with back spasms after yesterday’s crash into the wall.
Referees in St. Louis tomorrow night? Justin St. Pierre and one of my favorite refs, Tim Peel. Great guy.
One of the lineman is Pierre Racicot, the best in the league and a pal.
1-0 white: Andy Hilbert from Mikko Koivu, I am told.
2-0 white: Johnsson from the point. Chance it changed direction off Boogaard for his first goal since the Jimmy Carter administration.
2-1: Nathan Smith up the gut on an attempted centering feed from Benoit Pouliot to Danny Irmen that didn’t connect.
Craig Weller missing scrimmage after taking a slap shot under the left eye yesterday. In the Wild’s pre camp skates, he took a Pierre-Marc Bouchard shot, too, that required stitches
2-2 green: J.P. Testwuide, on an AHL deal, redirects an Antti Miettinen shot.
Maxim Noreau got Weller yesterday. Fifteen stitches. Will practice with a visor. Noreau also nailed Brent Burns in the hand yesterday and Burns apparently was behind Weller when he got nailed yesterday.
Second half
3-2 as green roars back: James Sheppard from behind the net to Colton Gillies at the goalmouth.
3-2 final
