No Czechs

Just landed in Edmonton. Got an email from PR guru Ryan Stanzel.

All three Wild Czech players missed practice today. Havlat and Sykora with groins, Zidlicky with what was called a maintenance day.

Wild hasn’t called up any forwards, so if they don’t and Havlat and Sykora can’t play, Derek Boogaard will have to return. If Zidlicky can’t play, we may see Jaime Sifers’ debut.

Lose one groiner and pick up two new ones.

Any idea what a “maintenance day” means?

This will be Russo’s best game of the year if Boogaard plays. He thinks he’s the greatest. Does anyone think he will get a goal? Before 2015?

If I was a Czech and played hockey in the NHL I would avoid the Wild like the Plague.

We might as well just swap teams completely with the Aeros at this rate.

I’ll take the under on that bet Saladin.

I don’t think Ruuso will ever score an NHL goal.

No. It’s intriguing.

It seems there is a reason Czechoslovakia was one country and not two. Maybe it should have been Czeckoslovak-we-have-bad groins-ia.

The Wild’s growing pains are hard to endure. What’s the line on Gophers/NoDak tomorrow & Sat night?

I used to have “maintenance days” in high school when I didn’t want to participate in gym class. Not sayin’, just sayin’.

I thought that was when you called in sick, but weren’t really sick. Or maybe hung over.

I wonder if the czecks arn’t having a small rebellion against being chewed out and sat out. does’nt seem like a productive method of communicatng…

Dr. Phil says:

That’s right, Jon. Passive-aggressive behavior isn’t a productive method of communicating.

Under Lemaire, that was what meant by Maintenance Day.

I read in the PP today that Selanne has fond memories of the 2007 series against the Wild. Probably because he’s a Finn and was glad to see that Swede get sucker punched.

So far our new Czechs have not balanced out the loss of our Slovak.

Get it, it’s a play on words.

Mister know it all has some thoughts

I don’t like how richards has used pouliot

Having havlat out of the line up should help the wild win. A little birdie named kj has admitted defense is an important part of hockey

I actually like the wilds chances against the oilers because they will finally pay attention to what I have been saying they should do to win. Work hard, compete, master the discipline and proper positioning for a strong defensive game

Again, they can’t win with bad penalties and bad defense

Mister know it all has noticed that the league and its owners have mandated this wide open hockey as a standard

More has been spoken about then what the fans have been told

Kj have you been paying attention ? The league is all attacking with two forwards , I was watching the black hawks and flames play the other day and the hawks were down by 5 goals and came back to win for cripes sake. The flames looked like the wild. I say leipold wanted this change so he was in favor of the league changing its style , this made it easier for him to let jl leave and dr go because they believed that defense wins championships

I know mister beast agrees and I know kj agrees

These injuries kj and wild road tripper could very well save the wilds season because the players will wake up and play discipline hockey now out of survival

Hard to fault the wild for nabbing havlat but the guy looks like he has the intensity of kjs posts

This is on richards and the injuries are a good thing for him

This is food armymom… mister know it all is dishing up a buffet las vegas style with these last two posts. Time for us to feed ourselves

Russo said the wild are a mess and I said these injuries are a blessing. This is something to munch on armymom

I’m sick of watching the poor play. 1 good period, and 2 bad periods makes for a tough game to watch.
