Minnesotans continue to make waves in California’s Wine Country. The latest coup: Longtime local residents Duane and Susan Hoff’s Fantesca winery has landed the justly renowned Heidi Barrett as their new winemaker.

Barrett is the only vintner to make four wines that earned 100-point ratings from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. She was most recently at cabernet titan Screaming Eagle, and Wine & Spirits magazine has called Barrett “the reigning queen [of cult wines].”

Given the very promising (and gorgeous) Spring Mountain property where Fantesca’s cabenet grapes grow, and given how tasty their cab already is, the mouth waters at the prospect of what Barrett might accomplish.
